Normal dogs do normal awoos. But Mika Tai has decided that being normal is too boring. This world traveler from @mika_tai_0601 has moved from Japan to Hong Kong and finally to Canada. And somewhere along the line, he stopped barking and started sounding like a cold engine.
In this video, the dog lets out a throaty awoo that actually vibrates. If you aren’t looking, you’d swear someone parked a motorcycle on the curb. It is a weird, mechanical sound that doesn’t belong in a living room. But he is a Shiba Inu, so having a bizarre personality is just part of the deal.
Shiba Inu’s little awoos sound like an engine
The whole clip is just a montage of him hitting these mechanical notes in different spots. Sometimes he is standing up. Other times, he’s just sitting on the floor. But the noise is always a perfect “Vroom Vroommmmmm” coming from his throat. His owner calls him a “very opinionated vocalist,” which makes sense because he lives with a music teacher.
One person in the comments called him a “Subawoo.” Another said he’s a “V8 of cuteness!!!!!!” If you closed your eyes, you would never guess this was a pet making noise. He apparently communicates exclusively in growls and emotional damage. It is a lot of attitude for such a small guy.
And since he loves -30 degree weather, maybe the revving is how he keeps his internal heater going? One fan called him a “Doge Challenger.” He really hits those throaty sounds like he’s practicing for a race. This video shows that the dog isn’t just making a random awoo sound. He is performing. It’s loud. It’s mechanical. And over 9,000 followers are totally obsessed with it.
There is just something about a dog that sounds like a lawnmower that is impossible to ignore. He’s probably waiting to start his engine again right now. It is peak main-character energy in a fluffy package. Mika isn’t just a Shiba Inu; he’s a high-performance machine.
