Some dogs really just decide they’re the main character of a Victorian tragedy if you stop touching them for three seconds. Chester from @chesterthegermanshepherd_ is currently going viral for exactly that reason. He’s three years old, living his best life in South Wales, and clearly thinks he’s entitled to 24/7 spa services.
We see the handsome German Shepherd in a total trance on the sofa while his mom gives him these long, sweet strokes through his thick coat. It’s peak relaxation for the dog, but then the unthinkable happens in the video — the tickling actually stops.

He’s just sitting there, completely zen, until his mom dares to pull her hand away, and the peace just dies immediately. Chester watches that hand retreat and immediately starts this high-pitched whining like he’s never been loved a day in his life. And he doesn’t just complain once. It’s a whole saga.
He realizes the tickling has officially ended, so he does this massive, dramatic yawn and just flops onto his back. He’s grumbling at the ceiling. One person in the comments said he deserves an Oscar, and honestly, they aren’t wrong.
But he’s also smart enough to check his audience. He pauses the drama for half a second just to look at the camera and make sure his mom is actually seeing his “suffering.” Then he throws his head back over the red cushion again.
It makes her laugh, which probably only encourages him. He’s just lying there belly up, letting out these tiny little “woe is me” whines. Someone else commented that it’s “obviously the hardest life of us all,” and yeah, the struggle is very real for this pup.
Eventually, he sits up and rests his chin on his paw with the saddest face he can muster. He just can’t believe the pampering is over. But that’s the thing about this breed — they are so loyal they basically want to be part of your life at all times.
