Video Shows Dog Being Gentle & Taking Extra Care of New Dino Toy

A rescue dog named Kevin has a new obsession, and he wants everyone to know he plans to keep it in perfect condition. Instagram user @katieandtatesfostermates shared a sweet video that shows the dog sitting with a stuffed dino toy — one that is nearly his size — as he gently licks it, like he is polishing a prized possession. Meanwhile, his owner narrates: “Kevin would like to thank everyone for your support of his dinosaur toy and wants you to know that he’s taking very good care of it and keeping it nice and clean.”

The dog stays focused on his dino toy “cleaning” duties in the video. Throughout the footage, he works his way around the plush, cleaning it with utmost passion in different positions, even at separate times. His owner finally checks in, asking, “You cleaning your dinosaur?” Kevin doesn’t exactly answer, but the situation suddenly escalates to a new height: in the middle of all that careful licking, he suddenly begins wildly shaking the dinosaur hard in his mouth.

Then, just as spontaneously, he returns to his gentle routine, licking again as if nothing happened. In a previous video, the rescue dog browsed toys at a store, finally found the dino toy, clamped it in his mouth, and tried to walk right out as though he was the boss of that place. And now he’s home, clearly in love with the toy.

Viewers loved Kevin’s obsession. One viewer commented, “Kevin cleaning his dinosaur is one of the cutest things I’ve seen. He’s such a good boy,” while a second one added, “I thought him carrying home his toy was next level cuteness but I was wrong.. Kevin is such a sweetie!!” A third user quipped, “That’s his baby.”

When it comes to dogs, the act of licking can be soothing, and it can also act like a kind of bonding or “this is mine” moment with a new favorite object. And the shaking is just a play and prey-style instinct. Maybe Kevin just likes his dinosaur clean before he attacks.
