Forget everything you’ve heard about ancient rivalries, because Opie and Mochi are busy rewriting the rulebook on interspecies friendships. A video posted on @justopiethings recently shows us that this “Director of Mayhem,” aka Opie, still needs a nap buddy. In the clip, we see the lovable Pit Bull completely zonked out, but he isn’t alone. His feline sibling, Mochi, is tucked right against him. And he’s using Opie’s face as a pillow. It’s a quiet scene that shows just how deeply these two rely on each other for a sense of safety.
Pit Bull peacefully sleeping with ’emotional support cat’ makes for the cutest video
The footage is simple but incredibly sweet. Opie is fully out to the world, drifting through dreamland while Mochi stays glued to his side. At one point, the Pittie gets a little start, likely chasing squirrels in his sleep, but Mochi doesn’t even flinch. They are so perfectly in sync that even a mid-nap twitch can’t break the snuggle.
For a brief second, the pup cracks an eye open, realizes life can’t get better than this, and immediately drifts back off. As his owner puts it, they are “the cutest pair, keeping each other safe.” This level of affection isn’t a one-time thing for this household. Since Opie was actually raised by cats, he has basically become a “Catbull,” as one viewer called him in a previous video.
We’ve seen him previously sitting like a loaf or rubbing against his human’s legs just like his feline mentors. Of course, sometimes gets his feelings hurt if a cat steals his favorite spot on the couch. But moments like this prove there are no hard feelings. He’s even been known to choose a tiny cat bed over his own oversized mattress just to be closer to the pack.
With over 1,400 likes already, the internet is officially obsessed with this duo. One fan commented that their “heart can’t take this,” while another jokingly pointed out how “scary” this supposedly tough breed is when they’re busy being an emotional support pillow. Others noted that Mochi clearly adores his big brother.
