A Golden Retriever pet parent recently shared a sweet video showing her 10-week-old puppy experiencing his very first bath. The clip, posted on @lairdsgoldenlife, features the young pup named Laird calmly navigating the unfamiliar process with surprising ease.
The video begins with Laird curiously observing his surroundings as his owner prepares the bathtub. While she fills it with water, she speaks to him in a soft, reassuring tone, asking if he’s excited. Laird, still unaware of what lies ahead, looks around with innocent curiosity, taking in the sights and sounds of the bathroom.
Once she places him into the tub, the puppy remains calm as his owner carefully pours water over his fur. She uses a dog-friendly shampoo, slowly lathering his coat while offering constant praise and encouragement. Despite it being his first bath, Laird doesn’t resist or panic. Instead, he appears relaxed, trusting the familiar presence caring for him.
After a thorough rinse, Laird shakes off the excess water, sending droplets everywhere. His owner quickly wraps him in a towel and dries him off while planting soft kisses on his head. To keep his spirits high, she even offers him small treats throughout the process.
The gentle handling continues as his mom introduces a blow dryer, allowing cool air to flow over his fur. Rather than being startled, Laird seems to find the routine soothing. As the drying continues, his eyes begin to droop, and before long, he falls asleep right in her lap. Even when she tries to wake him, the puppy remains deeply asleep, completely relaxed after the experience.
