Video: Golden Retrievers Aren’t Pleased About the New Sauna at Home

Pets are usually happiest when they get to be involved in everything their humans do. That can mean joining a car ride, curling up for a nap on the couch, or simply following them from room to room.

When they’re suddenly left out of a new activity, their confusion and disappointment can be hard to miss. A new video shows how a seemingly harmless home upgrade turned into an emotional yet funny moment for two very curious Golden Retrievers who just wanted to be included.

Golden Retrievers react to being not allowed in the sauna in adorable video

Wolfie and Pickles, two Golden Retriever brothers, are shown in a new video that captured their strong feelings about a sauna recently added to their home. The problem isn’t the sauna itself, it’s the fact that they’re not allowed inside. Shared by their paw parent on Instagram under the handle @lexiwolfiepickles, the video opens with the dogs peeking their heads through the slightly open sauna door, clearly determined to see what’s going on inside.

Onscreen text explains: “We got a new sauna & the boys aren’t happy about not being able to come in.” From the other side of the door, their mom films the scene while gently telling them they need to leave. Instead of backing away, Wolfie and Pickles lean in further, noses first, as if hoping persistence will change her mind.

At one point, their mom lightly boops their noses to nudge them back and close the door. Pickles quickly appears, poking his head through the gap, while Wolfie becomes more vocal. As the door starts to close, Wolfie lets out a bark that sounds a lot like a protest, making it clear he strongly disagrees with this new rule.

A number of viewers reacted in the comments section, sharing their amusement and siding with the pups. One person joked that Wolfie “got mad” the moment the door started closing, while another teased, “Oh, you wanna relax? Not on my watch.” Several commenters pointed out that dogs often enjoy warm, steamy environments. One said, “Most dogs love to do that in my home country.” Others admitted they would be just as curious, and many demanded “justice for the pups.”
