According to the trend, a dog is considered “smart” if they instinctively put their paws out to brace themselves when lifted toward a wall. The idea is that a quick physical response shows awareness and problem-solving ability.
In this case, the Golden Retriever had other plans, or rather, no plans at all. As his owner lifts him and lightly presses him toward the wall, the dog makes no effort to stop himself. Instead, he remains completely relaxed, allowing his cheek to press against the wall while his paws hang motionless.
The video spread rapidly across TikTok, racking up more than 2.1 million likes in under a week. Viewers flooded the comments with jokes, memes, and captions inspired by the dog’s calm and slightly bewildered look. Some imagined what he might be thinking, while others poked fun at the test itself.
