Working from home has changed daily routines for many people, especially those who share their space with pets. Dogs often take advantage of the extra company by finding new ways to stay close and participate in their owners’ schedules. For some pets, this means curling up nearby, but for others, it means stepping directly into the workday. A new viral video shows exactly that, capturing a sweet moment between a rescue puppy and his owner.
Rescue puppy won’t leave owner’s side in cute video
The video of the rescue puppy starts with an onscreen caption that reads, “Trying to work from home with a pup that loves attention.” It shows Cactus, a rescue who belongs to Mike Brown, sitting proudly on his dad’s office chair.
Brown explains to viewers that he only stepped away for a moment to grab something, but when he returned, Cactus had already made himself comfortable. Speaking to him like a true coworker caught in the act, he asks, “What are you doing up there?” Cactus looks back at him with an innocent, wide-eyed expression, almost as if he’s claiming the chair as his own.
Unable to resist the adorable takeover, Brown gently picks up the pup and settles him on his lap instead. Cactus immediately relaxes, clearly happy to stay close to his owner while he works. The dog dad even jokes in the caption, “POV: you get up once and Cactus gets promoted,” calling attention to the pup’s sudden rise in “office” status.
One viewer joked, “He’s the boss!! No doubt about it,” while another wrote, “Cactus is so sweet and so bonded with you.” Others joined in on the fun, imagining Cactus as an office employee. “Time for a Teams call, Cactus. Paws on the keyboard,” one person quipped.
Another added, “Cactus got promoted; Hooman got demoted.” Many commenters also noted how special it is that Brown gets to spend so much time with his dog, with one saying, “It’s really nice that you get to be with him while you work!”
