Video: Dog Doesn’t Like Change & Refuses to Use Owner’s New Car

If there’s one thing dog parents can agree on, it’s that pups don’t always handle change gracefully. New food bowls, a different brand of treats, or even a rearranged couch can trigger all kinds of drama. Now, imagine bringing home a shiny new car and realizing the biggest skeptic in the family is your four-legged co-pilot.

That’s exactly what happened with Leia, a Husky whose flair for the dramatic (read: chewing leash) is matched only by her stubborn streak. Her brother, Archer, hopped right into the back seat like it was no big deal. Leia, on the other hand? She had other plans, and they did not involve stepping paw inside.

The video quickly became popular online, racking over 26k likes, mostly because Leia’s antics feel so relatable. Her dad pleads, “Leia, get in the car. The walk is over. Look at your brother… he’s loving life, Leia. He’s living la vida loca!” Archer, cool as ever, just lounges in the car, clearly unbothered, while Leia simply stands her ground. At one point, dad even reminds her, “You leap over fences, Leia. You figured out how to open the yard gate! You can definitely get in this car.” But the standoff continues.

Fans in the comments couldn’t get enough. One joked, “Leia – 1, New Car – 0, Archer – just happy to be here.” Another laughed, “You only have yourself to blame. You should’ve asked her what car to buy.” Others related to dad’s patience, especially when he gently warned, “Nobody say anything bad about her. That is my daughter.” Archer, meanwhile, earned sympathy too, with viewers noting how “done with the situation” he looked as his sister’s protest dragged on.

At the end of the day, Leia proves what Husky owners already know — these dogs are smart, vocal, and hilariously opinionated. Change might not be her thing, but keeping the internet entertained? She’s nailing that job.
