If you’ve ever tried singing while chewing gum, you know it’s tricky. Now imagine being Wilbur, a Golden Retriever with a favorite toy that never leaves his mouth. In a new Instagram video, he’s sitting happily beside his mom on the couch, toy firmly in place, when his favorite song starts to play. And that’s when things get really funny. Wilbur is determined to join in, but there’s no way he’s dropping the stuffy.
The result is a string of funny, muffled ‘awoos’ that make it look like Wilbur is having a dog version of karaoke night. His human’s caption says it best: “Awoooooo! Wilbur takes his singing very seriously! Ignore the crusty toy — it’s his fave!” We can see.

It opens with him perched on the couch, toy clamped tight in his jaws, listening as the music starts. His ears perk up, his expression changes, and suddenly — “awooooo!” It’s the kind of howl that’s both committed and completely hilarious, made even funnier by the fact that he refuses to let the toy go.
What makes this clip so endearing is how much of Wilbur’s personality comes through. His affection for his mom, music, and love for his toy combine perfectly here. We see him keep one paw on her while belting out every note of his own little concert. Ah! To be surrounded by love and music. This is one case of “problem of plenty” that no one minds.
