Two Golden Retrievers Go From Being Distant to Inseparable in Adorable Video

Relationships between pets are as unpredictable as those between people. A new puppy may show up eager to cuddle, only to be met with resistance by the resident “big sibling.” Still, persistence has a way of winning out, especially when it comes in the form of soft puppy eyes and endless attempts to be close. A heartwarming Instagram video documents the slow but steady journey of two Golden Retrievers who went from distant to inseparable.

Instagram video shows how 2 Golden Retrievers went from not being close to inseparable

Maple, the younger of the two Golden Retrievers, has always looked up to her older sister, Daisy. From the very beginning, the former was drawn to the latter and often tried to get close. However, Daisy wasn’t quite ready to welcome the puppy into her personal space. Each time Maple approached, the older sibling would either shift away or refuse to engage, leaving her sister looking a little left out.

Despite the chilly reception, Maple never gave up. The video, shared on @daisythegoldiee, captures her determination. One particularly sweet moment shows the puppy scooting up to Daisy while she was asleep, carefully resting her head on her older sister’s body. Though Daisy didn’t seem thrilled at first, she tolerated it, marking what felt like a breakthrough.

Over time, those small moments began to add up. The clips that follow document Daisy slowly adjusting to Maple’s constant presence. She no longer pulled away, and gradually, she even seemed to welcome the affection.

The video then jumps ahead with a caption reading, “Almost three years later… she finally won her over.” Now, Maple and Daisy are inseparable, whether they’re napping side by side, playing together, or simply keeping each other company.

The heartwarming transformation drew plenty of reactions from viewers. One person commented, “It takes a little warming up sometimes.” Another joked about Daisy’s acceptance, writing, “Ok, we can be friends, just be a Sharkie on the hooman.”

Others praised Maple’s persistence, with one saying, “Puppies just want a leader and keep pursuing because they know it will be worth it.” Another viewer summed it up humorously: “Daisy just admitted defeat to the unstoppable force of the young pup.”
