Video: Owner Says ‘No More Swimming’ but Golden Retriever Finds a Loophole

There’s something magical and infectious about dogs and their love for swimming, especially when it’s summertime and a lake is nearby. It’s either that or a backyard pool, and you are constantly demanding that they not take a dip in the water. This dog owner shared a video of her Golden Retriever finding a loophole after she told him “no more swimming.” Nothing tops the cool rush of endless splashes on a hot day, and Chili didn’t want to miss out on that fun.

As parents, when you ask your children not to do something, they generally drop whatever mischief they had in mind. But things are not quite as easy when you’re the pet parent of a massive furball who never intended to listen to your advice. In a goofy video that will make you laugh, a dog owner shared what her Golden Retriever does when she tells him not to swim in the lake, and it’s so brilliant, you’d think he’s a genius on his own.

In the subtext, Chili’s dog mom explained, “I told him no more swimming, so he’s doing this instead.” Meanwhile, the clip captured the fluff chilling on the sunny dock at the lake and only dipping and paddling his paw. His mom, while recording the hilarious moment, told him that she felt it was “technically swimming,” but that didn’t stop him from continuing what he was doing. A lake trip isn’t complete unless you spend hours getting your fur soaking wet in the water.

The Golden Retriever’s video of him finding a loophole around “no swimming” proved they are as smart as they come. Moreover, it demonstrated that they would do anything when it comes to cooling down during the summers, and doesn’t involve a bathtub, a shower, or shampoo. Commenters also defended Chili’s actions. “It’s not really swimming if my tummy is on the dock,” argued one user, while another joked that he wasn’t “swimming,” but “stirring the water.”
