During the interview, the host went on to ask everyone whether Corenswet’s family dog was a “diva” on the set. In response, the cast and Gunn went on to gush about the charming furry baby.
David Corenswet’s dog got all the love on the sets of ‘Superman’
One of the most lovable members on the set of James Gunn’s film, “Superman”, was actor David Corenswet’s family dog, Ira. He is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who took everyone on the set under his charm.
On “Entertainment Tonight”, the host asked about Ira being a “diva” on set. In response, Corenswet changed the subject and joked that he thought the host was talking about his co-star in the film, Nicholas Hoult. Hoult then found out about what Corenswet had said, and he went on to humorously say that the actor was “spreading misinformation.”
When the interviewer asked the same question to Maria Gabriela de Faria, she shared some stories from the set. The Venezuelan actor said that David Corenswet’s family dog, Ira, “had his own driver.” She continued, “with the AC.” She further revealed that her co-star Rachel Brosnahan gifted the dog with a Superman cape of his own. “It was the best,” Maria added.
In the meantime, during her interview, Rachel Brosnahan, who portrays Lois Lane in “Superman,” called Ira the “toughest” producer “in the biz.” She then explained that “Ira needed his very own cape to match his daddy.”
After that, the film’s writer and director, James Gunn, shared some more funny stories about Ira from the set. He revealed that the furry baby would “steal” his chair all the time. He had to bribe the dog with pats and treats to get back his seat. In the interview, Corenswet further disclosed that Ira is his mom’s dog. The actor continued, “She raised him, and she raised him very well.” He called the dog a “giver.” “He wants to offer everything that he has,” Corenswet added.
