A video posted on her official Instagram account (@nellthegoldenretriever) captured her unique habit of waiting for a sock to drop as her dad hung them out to dry. The dog showed what patience can do as her quiet wait resulted in the sock falling, which she promptly picked up before running away.

Golden Retriever Nellie developed a fun ritual every time her owner finished the laundry for the day. An Instagram video featured her sitting quietly as her dad hung out clothes to dry on the washing line. While at first, it may have just looked like she was accompanying her parent in this activity, the clip quickly proved that the dog had ulterior motives that were as adorable as they were funny.
In the video, the owner revealed how the Golden Retriever likes to “sit and wait for a sock to fall from the washing line.” Nellie had her eyes fixed on the multiple pairs of socks that her parent were lining up to dry on the sock holder. She waited patiently, often looking at mom and her camera, until her dad almost completed his task. Although the dog was distracted quite a few times, she didn’t forget her ultimate mission.
Just when Nellie’s dad was about to hang the last sock, it slipped from his hands and fell to the ground.
