Video Reveals Dogs’ Interpretation of Email Lingo

Imagine if your dogs could read emails. Would they have the same reactions as their humans, like read the subject line and pretend it doesn’t exist? An Instagram video unpacked what dogs’ interpretation of email lingo would look like, and it’s comedy gold. The scenes are so hilariously chaotic, endearing, and filled with misinterpretations, you’ve probably not seen anything like this before. The snippets showed moments of delight mixed with utter confusion and pure enthusiasm, and it’s such a bliss to have witnessed that.

“What email lingo means according to my dogs?” read the subtext as the video proceeded to show scenarios that most accurately described common texts. The first in line was “circling back,” and the Golden Retriever took it quite literally, moving in circles trying to catch his tail with his mouth. “Loop in the team” made them all — two pups and one cat — gather around, waiting for their owner to loop them into the discussion.

The post then showed what a pooch’s interpretation of “to follow up” would look like, and it’s a comedic masterpiece. The clip showed the puppy checking in for a progress update with his paws reaching out repeatedly to ensure it’s done. For them, “discuss internally” clearly meant throwing paws at each other and rolling all over the floor in what appeared to be a fun-packed play time. “Touch base” as in touching the cat’s face, and “by EOD” was about napping till the end of the day.

Perhaps the dog’s interpretation of “kindest regards” from an email lingo was the ridiculously funny part about the video. One user rightly made a note in the comments that they would “never read ‘kindest regards’ the same way!!!” Another joked that it had them “howling,” while a third wondered “what Best Regards would look like.”

We can only imagine how our four-legged companions would interpret or react to emails if they ever had the chance. In the meantime, one can be certain that our dogs would prefer lazing around in bed and not working a day in their lives to reading emails and working a 9-5. Wouldn’t you?
