Video: Dog’s Bath Time Turns Peaceful After Mom’s Singing

Bath time with dogs is always a gamble. Either you get the rare spa-like cooperation, or you’re soaked, defeated, and rethinking your life choices. Blake, a Rottweiler with clear opinions about hygiene, was not having it until his owner broke into song and changed the mood completely. Apparently, all he needed was the right soundtrack.

‘Impatient’ dog calms down after mom’s singing during bath time in video

Blake the Rottweiler seemed to be handling bath time just fine (at least in the beginning). A video posted online shows the large pup cooperating calmly as his owner gently scrubs him down. An AI voiceover in the clip sets the scene, noting that “wash day was going pretty good.” However, the peaceful moment soon takes a turn. Before long, Blake starts getting visibly restless, and his patience begins to wear thin.

As the voiceover continues, “Until someone started getting impatient…” Blake looks up at his owner, clearly done with the process, and even lets out a low growl to make his feelings known. Just when the tension starts to rise, his owner responds in an unexpected way. She begins to softly sing “Lose Control” by Teddy Swims, and Blake’s demeanor shifts almost immediately. The growling stops, his eyes soften, and he appears visibly calmer.

With Blake relaxing into the moment, a second AI voiceover jumps in, giving voice to the Rottie’s inner thoughts: “This isn’t so bad.” The contrast between his earlier frustration and the sudden calm is both funny and endearing. One viewer joked, “Blake looks like he doesn’t know why you weren’t singing from the start.” Another wrote, “I mean I get upset when I’m showering without music too,” drawing a hilarious parallel between human and canine bath-time struggles. Someone chimed in with, “You have an awesome voice. I was waiting for Blakester to chime in,” imagining the pup joining in for a duet.

To help your dog stay relaxed during bath time, preparation is key. Use warm (not hot) water, a non-slip mat for safety, and calm, reassuring tones. Keep shampoo and supplies within reach so you’re not fumbling, and offer treats or praise throughout the process. The goal is to associate the experience with comfort — not stress — so over time, your dog learns that bath time isn’t something to fear.
