Dog Is Totally Obsessed With Furry Sibling in Hilarious Video

If you’ve ever tried to nap while your sibling hovered nearby offering unsolicited affection, or just silently stared at you for no reason, you’ll relate to this one. Turns out, pet siblings aren’t much different. That so-called “unbreakable bond” can occasionally turn into a full-on cling-fest. That is what’s going viral in a hilarious Instagram video of a dog who just cannot stop obsessing over his slightly fed-up furry sibling.

Dog just won’t let furry sibling nap in funny video

The video, posted by Instagram user @scoobyxbutter features two Mini Dachshunds named Scooby and Butter. In the short clip, Butter is trying to catch a peaceful nap, but Scooby clearly has other plans. With relentless enthusiasm, Scooby continuously licks and grooms Butter’s face, seemingly unable to stop. Despite Butter’s attempts to ignore or subtly pull away, Scooby remains locked in a determined display of affection. The on-screen caption reads, “When you’re just trying to nap but your brother’s obsessed with your existence,” perfectly summing up the energy of the scene.

“If no want kisses, why so kiss shaped?” one commenter quipped, summing up Butter’s sleepy frustration. Another joined in with, “A wiener dog being a wiener dog helping out,” a nod to the breed’s quirky reputation. The fun didn’t stop there. One user even called the pair “reincarnations of Versailles royalty,” making this sibling rivalry sound fit for a palace.

As for why Scooby might be so obsessed with grooming his sibling, there’s actually a natural explanation. Dogs often lick and groom one another as a way of showing affection, strengthening social bonds, or providing comfort. It can also be a form of stress relief or a habit picked up from puppyhood when their mothers would groom them. In multi-dog households, grooming is a common and instinctive behavior that reinforces a sense of pack unity. So while Butter may just want a nap, Scooby’s behavior is likely his way of saying, “I love you,” just in the most persistent way possible.
