Fostering a furry friend, especially one who has suffered hardships previously, can sometimes stir up many emotions. Each of their journeys and backstories is different. Although settling into a new home may seem prolonged for them, things eventually rally and start to look up. An emaciated dog named Star has a similar story, and her foster mom has been sharing constant updates through videos since she arrived at their home. A few of these instances include searching for food high and low after earning the alter ego “Chomps.”
Instagram video shows a dog looking for food in new temporary home
Star knew from the start that although it was her foster home, she was there to make bonds that would last a lifetime. An Instagram video showed the emaciated foster dog eating anything and everything in her new but temporary home a week after she arrived there. The foster mom, Emily, explained in the post that she brought the “sweet, emaciated, very hungry” pooch home and how she quickly earned the alter ego, Chomps.
Physically, the pup appeared to be in a very rough shape and landed in Emily’s care after a difficult time with her previous owners. Regardless, Star’s past troubles didn’t crush her spirit, as she remained kind and gentle towards others. Emily shared a little update on her time at the foster home in a recent video, showing the “hungry” foster dog searching high and low for extra snacks around the house.
One clip showed her chomping on anything in her way, including a blanket and items around the garden. The foster mom also captured that they had to make a trip to the vet after she stole and swallowed an entire popsicle. Moreover, Star also chomped on the receipt to “hide the evidence.” In the video, Emily jokingly claimed her foster dog’s alter ego did the damage. She shifted the blame to Chomps because Star would never do that.
One such clip in the compilation further showed the foster mom wrestling a cardboard box from her furry friend. She then shared another update in the caption that Star has been “showing less and less of this behavior each day now that she’s getting consistent meals.” Some comments quickly pointed out that the Instagram Reel was funny yet sad because of the dog’s unfortunate backstory.
