Video: Dog Hesitant to Do Tricks Without Treat Payment

A funny Instagram video of two corgis shows dogs of opposite personalities, with one demanding treats before following the most basic paw tricks. The video garnered over 300 thousand views and 31 thousand likes in less than a day.

In the video, two corgis display how differently two siblings can react to a simple paw trick. The video has been dubbed a classic example of the “dog tricks treat video” genre, sweeping through pet-lover feeds within a day.

Instagram video shows a reluctant Corgi refusing to give paw without treats

Featuring two dogs, the video shows Brady demanding treats to follow simple paw tricks. Unlike his brother, Brady functions on one principle – performance requires payment, preferably upfront. The creator writes in the overlay caption: “POV you have one patient child and one impatient child.” Meanwhile, the post caption says, “Brady requires up front payment.”

The video contrasts Brady with Graffiti and opens with the latter in the frame. Graffiti calmly sits and offers his palm to his human once asked. He does it again when his human asks for his paw again, earning praises like “good boy.” Within seconds, Graffiti shows how he is the picture of polite compliance.

On the other hand, Brady becomes an expert in negotiation. When the spotlight shifts to him, his response is less obedient. He is clumsy, chaotic, and strategic. The corgi presents an enthusiastic demand, expecting the situation to be a perfect opportunity for treats. When the human asks for his paw, he barks impatiently, with overlay captions offering an insight into his mind: “take da stump!” and “already did dis.”

Brady sends a clear message in the video – the dog demands compensation for his hard work of paw tricks. His chaotic paw offerings are not mistakes but a succinct reminder that his services and labor are not for free. As such, his business negotiations apparently work out and he relishes chicken treats in a satisfying ending for the corgi.
