A viral Instagram video of the dog shared by a SoCal animal rescue, @countyvalleyrescue, shared the tale of his valor as he donated several bags of blood to save a rescue puppy. The post explained that the tiny furry baby, “coated in fleas and anemic,” received a “life-saving blood transfusion” from their shelter, Scout, which helped them save a life.
In the caption, the animal rescue further shared an update on the puppy’s condition, noting that he now “safely rests in foster care until ready for adoption.” It also credited Scout for stepping up in the time of need and being the “hero” that he is to save a fellow buddy’s life.
The clip showed glimpses of the transfusion and a couple of before-and-after snaps of the puppy, named Gragon Fruit, after his rescue from a bush at an apartment complex. Some snippets also documented the dog’s heartwarming reaction following the brave deed.
