Rescuer confirms New Orleans dog Scrim is in good health

Zeus’ Rescues is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing animals in New Orleans, LA. They introduced Scrim as a 1.5-year-old puppy on their Instagram page. They uploaded his introductory photo and details on April 21, 2024, asking animal aficionados to give him the home he deserved.

According to the post, they found Scrim “completely shut down and matted to the flesh everywhere.” Fortunately, after recovering, the puppy began showing his untroubled self. Thereafter, his foster family shared how he must have had a rough past and preferred being silent. However, he compensated for his shyness with his adorable personality — the kind where he would “occasionally steal a sock to cuddle with if he likes you.”

Unfortunately, on May 1, Zeus’ Rescues posted that he went missing from his home visit. They requested netizens to call them if they spotted him instead of chasing him. Following this, the rescue team uploaded various posts over nine months, updating Scrim’s admirers with every little sighting of the puppy.

His shy disposition needed a calm strategy, which was not easy for anyone. Hence, he kept out of traps for quite long. After months of searching, Scrim’s brilliant escapades, and dealing with false alarms, a nonprofit for cats called “Trap Dat Cat” found the dog and informed Michelle from Zeus’ Rescues.

Hoping for the best, the rescuer rushed to the location and found Scrim around 7 am on February 12. Over nine months, the rescuer shared, they were on an unfortunate adventure with Scrim. It was a tough chase and it had been a while since they saw Scrim. Nevertheless, Michelle immediately recognized him upon seeing his “big eyes and floppy ears.”

They called a veterinarian and had him checked thoroughly. The veterinarian found no health issues except worms and intestinal parasites caused by drinking street water. Scrim’s admirers were much relieved upon hearing the news and shared their excitement in the post’s comment section.
