Dog’s Makes It Very Clear She Loves the Sofa in Viral Video

A few days ago, Melissa Gilbert shared a video of her rescue dog, Chicago, which quickly went viral. The actor uploaded an Instagram video of Chicago not leaving her spot on the sofa after multiple requests from Gilbert’s husband, Tim Busfield. The Labrador mix refused to leave the sofa and side-eyed Busfield for as long as possible. After some time, she got down reluctantly, leaving the couple as well as fans online in stitches.

Dog’s reaction to being asked to leave the sofa goes viral

Melissa Gilbert recorded a video of her rescue dog, Chicago, and her love for the sofa. Referring to her furbaby, the actor captioned the post, “She’s not a dog. She’s a person and she loves the sofa.” In the video, Gilbert’s husband, Tim Busfield, was seen requesting Chicago to give him his spot on the sofa. However, the canine was glued to the piece of furniture and refused to leave.

Busfield stressed that it was his spot on the couch. However, Chicago didn’t budge and kept side-eyeing at the actor. Amid Gilbert’s laughter, Busfield kept asking the rescue dog to spare him his seat on the sofa. After several polite requests, the Labrador mix decided to prioritize her love for him over the couch. She was reluctant at first, but slowly made her way down. Busfield thanked Chicago for kindly giving up her spot before showering her with love.

Fans took to the comments section to hilariously respond to Chicago’s antics. Many users loved the dog’s side-eye, while others laughed at her hesitance in getting down from the sofa. A few commenters found Chicago’s actions adorable and commended her acting skills.

Gilbert and Busfield adopted Chicago from The Anti-Cruelty Society in March 2022. Speaking to the organization, Gilbert recalled passing by the adoption center to see a volunteer holding the dog. The couple had lost a French Bulldog a year before. However, they instantly became “head over heels in love” with Chicago when they met her. The dog parents then took the pup to New York.

Speaking to the organization for their Fall Magazine that year, Gilbert said, “Everything she does is precious, and she is so smart. She was even completely housebroken in a few days!” The actor admitted that snuggling with Chicago was her favorite time of the day.
