A dog graciously accepted the viral apple bobbing challenge and is flaunting his skills in an Instagram video. Chicken, a three-year-old Vizsla, enjoys two of his favorite things — water and apples — to complete the playful challenge and win a sweet reward. Besides participating in daring activities, Chicken likes to hunt, indulge in mischief, and play with his elder sister, Waffles.

Instagram Video shows Vizsla winning the apple challenge

A viral Instagram video shows a dog showing his bobbing skills to win the apple challenge. In the short clip, Chicken, who has a penchant for splashing water, bobs apples in a clean tub filled with clean water to win the daring challenge. The caption states, “Two of Chicken’s favorite things” with the water splash and apple emojis. Eventually, the three-year-old talented dog triumphs and chomps on a sweet apple treat as his reward.

The bobbing video came with a text providing directions that the dog owner followed for the apple challenge. At first, it noted, “Come bob for apples with Chicken” before mentioning the supplies they used including a “clean container, some apples, and water.” The owner stated that the activity was a source of “great enrichment and mental stimulation” for their Vizsla.

In the video, Chicken attempts multiple times to bob for an apple using his mouth and paw. After a few initial failed attempts, unnecessary water splashes, and a lot of bubbles, he carefully picks an apple using his jaw and finally takes it out of the container to enjoy the fruits of his labor.

The dog’s owner added a disclaimer to the bobbing video for others planning to do the apple challenge with their pets. It read, “As most enrichment should be, this should be supervised if you want to do this with your pup!” Additionally, the caption urges people to be “mindful of how much apple your pup is eating” and to ensure the “pup is NOT eating the seeds!”
