How Billie Eilish’s Dog Made It to the Billboard Hot 100

Billie Eilish’s dog Shark, a rescued Pit Bull who became an integral part of her life in 2020, has also made it to the Billboard Hot 100. Vogue reported that Shark has contributed to her songs in ways that listeners may not yet be familiar with. One can easily hear Eilish’s dog growling in a couple of her songs, including “The Greatest” from her latest album, “Hit Me Hard and Soft.” The singer’s studio album made it to the Billboard Hot 100 with all 10 songs in the top 40 shortly after its debut.

Billie Eilish’s Pit Bull is on Billboard charts

Billie Eilish told Vogue about the exact moment she realized her dog Shark, a Pit Bull, could become a part of her music. Eilish claimed it was around COVID-19 time when she and her brother Finneas O’Connell were playing with their dogs in the yard. O’Connell also has a female pet Pit Bull named Peaches. Eilish told Vogue she adopted the rescued Pit Bull from an organization called Angel City Pit Bulls back in 2020.

“The Birds of a Feather” singer said, “I’m pretty sure it was just a day in COVID that Finneas and I were hanging out and the dogs were running around the yard playing and I recorded them because they sounded ins-ne. They’re very vocal and I thought this sounded really cool. I knew I wanted to use it for something, so we made it the beginning of that song.”

Reportedly, Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell’s dogs often accompany them to the studio. Eilish wanted to add a quirky element to the music. So, if listeners pay attention to the track “I Didn’t Change My Number” from Eilish’s “Happier Than Ever” sophomore album, they will hear Shark and Peaches growling.

More recently, fans can also listen to Billie Eilish’s dog sigh and grunt in “The Greatest” from “Hit Me Hard and Soft.” Eilish’s latest album has already made it to the Billboard Hot 100. In fact, all 10 tracks from the album debut were in the top 40, reported Billboard.

It’s safe to say that Billie Eilish’s dog, Shark, is following in her footsteps and contributing to her music journey.
