On May 14, Messi of “Anatomy of a Fall” fame stole the spotlight at the Cannes Film Festival 2024 red carpet. Moreover, he was the first actor to arrive at the 77th edition of the Festival de Cannes, per AP News. The pup walked up and down the red carpet, performing some tricks for the media at the instruction of his trainer, Laura Martin.

The canine previously went viral for his appearance at the Oscars 2024. The clip of Messi sitting upright and clapping caught people’s eyes. However, Martin later revealed it was a crafted sequence, as she posed with fake paws in an Instagram post. Nonetheless, fans enjoyed the clip as his presence at the awards ceremony was highly anticipated.

It was Messi’s second time walking the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival. He previously won the Palm Dog Award in 2023. Furthermore, the movie he starred in, “Anatomy of a Fall,” went on to win the prestigious Palme d’Or award. In the film, the pup plays a guide dog for a blind child.

Messi’s role at the Cannes Film Festival 2024 doesn’t end there. He is also scheduled to appear in one-minute segments that will air on French television. The segments will be in the form of celebrity interviews, which the canine will host. Also, on the first day of the Festival de Cannes, he was carrying a camera stick to better suit his role as an interviewer.
