Kendall Jenner’s Dog Pyro: Breed, Age, and More

A model in its own right, Kendall Jenner’s dog Pyro has been a part of the Kardashian-Jenner family for a long time. Pyro has appeared many times on Kendall Jenner’s Instagram, in magazines, and in various campaigns for high-profile brands alongside the famous American socialite. In day-to-day life, Kendall sometimes brings the dog along on walks and casual trips to coffee shops, with some calling Pyro a guard dog given its lean, muscular build. Here’s everything we know about Pyro so far, including its age and breed.

How old is Kendall Jenner’s dog Pyro?

Kendall Jenner’s dog Pyro is estimated to be seven years old, as of February 21, 2025, based on information of his adoption.

According to an article in Vogue, Pyro has been a part of the Jenner family since 2018, noting that Kendall made a quip that she was “raising a model.” Specifically, the dog was first seen in photos on Jenner’s Instagram in May of that year. That said, it’s still unclear how old the pooch was when he was adopted and we haven’t seen any posts about the pup’s birthday, which is why we can only estimate his age.

Since his adoption, Pyro has been featured in several ad campaigns. Kendall posed with him for Bottega Veneta and Tommy Hilfiger’s Spring 2024 collection.

What breed is Kendall Jenner’s dog Pyro?

Pyro is a black-and-rust Doberman Pinscher, a muscular working dog breed meant for personal protection and known for its devotion and loyalty.

The lifespan of the typical Doberman is 10 to 13 years, so Pyro would be in the middle of its life. The usual “Dobie” has an athletic frame, a short and smooth coat, and a highly active and alert personality.

Due to the breed’s protective nature, one of the downsides of the Doberman is that it frequently suffers from separation anxiety. In fact, Kendall revealed in a 2023 episode of “The Kardashians,” per Page Six, that she feared having children in part because she has struggled to handle Pyro, saying that she was “having serious issues with him.” Specifically, she explained that he has “really bad separation anxiety.” She was afraid that her anxiety was being passed onto the dog and that it would also be passed to any kids she might have in the future.

The Jenner family is known for being dog-friendly, especially Kendall’s sister Kylie Jenner who has over a dozen pups of her own.
