The Australian-born American journalist, who has been a co-anchor for the morning talk show since 2012, shared news of the pooch in a digital Christmas card in December 2024. The full name of her family’s new dog is officially Fetch Guthrie Feldman, with the pooch also taking the last name of her husband, Michael Feldman. Guthrie revealed that her family had adopted Fetch on official Instagram on December 13, 2024, cheekily stating that “Mike, Savannah, Vale, and Charley are delighted to announce that this year, we made Fetch happen.”
Another picture of the puppy was posted several days earlier on December 8, with her son Charley holding Fetch in his arms. This photo is the earliest image that we’ve able to find of the dog, so it’s at least three months old. It’s possible that Fetch was also a birthday present to celebrate Charley turning eight.

While Savannah Guthrie hasn’t said what breed Fetch is, at least from what we could find about her dog, it looks to be a black-haired Aussiedoodle.
Also known as the Aussiepoo, the Aussiedoodle is a cross between a poodle and an Australian Shepherd. Their popularity comes from their intelligent and friendly spirit, along with their hypoallergenic coat that doesn’t shed often. However, they are generally high-maintenance because of the required grooming and upkeep of their curly fur. The average lifespan of an Aussiedoodle is 10 to 15 years, so Fetch still has many years of life ahead.
In early February, Fetch has been seen in an adorable Eagles costume as Guthrie and her husband supported the team for the 2025 Super Bowl. The pooch also appeared in a video with Guthrie providing an update about the tour of her children’s book called “What God Does Is Love You.”
