Basher, a giant dog who was abandoned because of his size, has finally found his forever home.

As reported by Cornwall Live, the two-year-old Mastiff is 6 feet tall standing on his hind legs and weighs 132 pounds.

Back in January 2020, he was rescued as a small stray and lived at the RSPCA Cornwall kennels. That is, until his new pet parent took him home. Now, Basher has seven acres to play in and lots of dog friends.

Nicole Doige from RSPCA Cornwall describes Basher as “one of the most handsome, loving dogs there is” who “loves a good cuddle and a good fuss… He’s one very happy dog at the moment. He was with us a long time and he was part of the family, but it’s great to see him in his new home.”

Due to the current animal welfare crisis in the U.K., Basher is one lucky dog. Doige went on, “We are incredibly busy, demand for kennel space has gone up with the cost of living. It’s generally due to the cost of living, with rising bills and people working longer hours to pay the bills. We have lots of puppies coming in because people can’t sell them.”

As always, DogTime urges you to adopt, don’t shop.
