Dogs often gel up with humans effortlessly. However, a few take time to communicate with new people and can feel nervous. A recent post on social media has been capturing this instance. The video focuses on a rescue dog being comforted by his dad when he gets scared of the mailman. A user named @cactustherescue shared this heartwarming moment on Instagram. The profile focuses on the canine’s shenanigans with his paw parent, Michael Henry.
Rescue dog is ‘nervous’ to meet mailman but dad helps him stay calm and feel safe
In the above-mentioned video, the rescue dog is carried by his dad when he gets scared of the mailman. The video-on text reads, “Introducing my nervous dog to the mail man.” Cactus immediately starts barking, seeing the man while he warmly greets his paw parent. As such, the dog dad takes him in his arms to make him feel comfortable. Further, the human tells Cactus is a German Shepherd mix, as the visitor asked.
The mailman finds the pooch light and tries to interact with him, but the paw parent points out that Cactus gets scared of mail people. However, the man understands the situation and says, “They all do, I think it’s the colors,” referring to his t-shirt. Further, he tries to touch Cactus’s nose to cheer him up and calls him a “good dog,” before leaving. In the end, the dog dad tells the pup that the new visitor is nice. He also describes the incident in detail in the caption.
“Walk day turned into an impromptu socialization session when the mailman showed up,” the dog dad wrote. He continued, “Cactus had thoughts at first, but this guy was just the coolest, so patient, friendly, and genuinely sweet with him.” The canine parent concluded, “Honestly the best kind of human you could run into on a walk. Shoutout to the cool mailmen out there making training moments easy. Here’s to hoping we cross paths again soon.”
