Video: Big Dog Goes Viral for How He Is Standing

Some dogs curl up on couches, others stretch out on the floor. Albert the Newfoundland prefers something much simpler; he parks himself beside the dining table and rests his head directly on top of it. A viral video shows the gentle giant standing completely upright while using the tabletop as a headrest, and the internet can’t stop watching.

Big dog likes to rest only his head on the table while standing next to it

The clip opens with on-screen text that reads: “Found him just standing like this.” Albert stands next to a wooden dining table in what appears to be a cozy home. Sunlight filters through the windows behind him, and he calmly places his chin on the edge of the table.

The caption adds humor to the moment: “It’s not easy to have a heavy head.” As a Newfoundland, Albert carries a famously large and fluffy head. The way he gently props it up on the tabletop makes it look like he genuinely needs structural support. His body remains fully upright while his head rests flat against the wood, creating a pose that looks both awkward and completely natural. He appears comfortable, as if this is his preferred resting position.

The comment section quickly filled with playful theories. One user wrote, “It’s kinda rough being a newf, Albert, but it’s pretty great too.” Another added, “Newfies are the best!!!!” One commenter joked, “I think Bert says time for a snack, Mama!” Another suggested a more philosophical angle, writing, “He is thinking very deep thoughts about life and happiness.”

The clip appears on the verified Instagram account @albertthenewfie, which documents the life of Albert, a Newfoundland based in Norway. The account features 815 posts, 140K followers, and follows 1,328 accounts. Albert was born on 06.05.22, and the account also references a hiking-focused page.
