German Shepherd Is a ‘Good Boy’ Bringing Mom Firewood in Cute Video

Some dogs love to cuddle. Some enjoy playing fetch. And then there are dogs like Buck, the kind who take their household responsibilities very seriously. A new video of the German Shepherd has gone viral for capturing his instinctive desire to help his family, especially when it comes to keeping the fire going.

Video shows German Shepherd helping mom by bringing wood for the fire

Buck trots proudly into the room, carrying an impressively large piece of firewood in his mouth as he heads straight toward his mom. The owner laughs in surprise as Buck drops the log beside her, clearly believing he has brought exactly what the household needs.

The clip then cuts to the fireplace, where the camera shows a neat stack of chopped firewood. The caption read as: “Buck wants to help out with everything, and he always seems to know what we need to do next. The dogs were all down by the fire after being outside all morning – maybe it wasn’t warm enough, he knew the fire needed to be stoked and more wood put on. Good boy, Buck.”

Mom calls him over again, pointing to a different area, saying, “Right there.” Buck immediately trots off to fetch another piece of wood. He returns with a log so big it nearly blocks his view. The next shot shows Mom gently laughing as she says, “I don’t think that is going to fit.”

Viewers flooded the comments with admiration for Buck’s earnest effort. Many praised his natural desire to help, calling him “the definition of a good boy.” One user wrote, “Goodness, I love him. He wants so much to please you. Decide what wood you want, Mom!” Another added, “Okay. I’ve never loved anything more than this.” One viewer commented, “He’s the smartest dog!! Go Buck!! You are the very best helper. What would they ever do without you?“ One praised him, saying, “Well, it was a piece of wood. And a big piece too! Buck was trying to make sure everyone was warm for a long time.”
