The luck of a Siberian Husky puppy has changed! Whereas Dutchess was once abandoned in a car in a casino parking lot with her mouth taped shut, she has now been adopted and is settling into her forever home.
Siberian Husky Puppy Rescued From Hot Car
Last July, the then 3-month-old pup was discovered in a locked car on the top floor of a parking garage in Las Vegas. Her mouth was covered in electrical tape. Passersby contacted local police, as the temperature that afternoon hit a sweltering 113 degrees.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police were dispatched to the scene. Officer Rybacki was able to rescue the canine through the car’s sunroof. The dog had been without air conditioning, water, and food for over two hours. The dog owner, who was found gambling inside a casino, was later charged.
Nevada animal shelter The Animal Foundation was able to find the puppy a new home within a month.
Just recently, the shelter gave social media followers an update, informing them that the puppy was loving her new life in a family with two kids and several animal companions.
“She lives with a wonderful family who adores her,” the shelter shared on Instagram last week. “She sneaks into the children’s beds and enjoys hanging out with her new fur siblings.”
“She’s also quite the traveler, making her way all over Nevada, California, and Arizona, never missing a chance to play in the snow,” the shelter’s post continued. “Talk about a good life.”
A Picture’s Worth 1,000 Words
In the shelter’s Instagram post, Dutchess’s happy life is on display in a carousel of pics, including shots of the dog decked out in Miami Dolphins merch, soaking in a fountain, playing outdoors in the snow, rolling on a rug, and sharing living space with resident cats.

Instagram followers were overjoyed by the social media update.
“Amazing!! Thank you to the officer who saved her and thank you to the animal foundation for caring for her!!” one wrote.
“I’m beyond HAPPY she has been placed in a loving home with such a caring, wonderful family, that she so DESERVES!” another cheered.
“Thank you to the angels who rescued her and the wonderful family giving her the best life,” a third offered.
May Dutchess enjoy many more years of fun and family.
