Few things make dogs happier than their favorite treats, especially when peanut butter is involved. A recent video shared on Instagram by user @marlo_the_corgi captured one Corgi refusing to give up a peanut butter jar after his owner decided snack time was over. The hilarious clip quickly went viral as the determined pup made it clear he was still enjoying every last bit.
Corgi is not done with peanut butter jar and makes it clear to mom
The clip shows a stubborn Welsh Corgi named Marlo clutching a peanut butter jar tightly in his mouth. His owner appears to think he has had enough and tries to take the jar back, but Marlo clearly disagrees with that decision.
As soon as his mom reaches toward him, the dog starts barking in protest and refuses to loosen his grip. Instead of cooperating, he turns around and faces away from her, almost as though he is trying to shield the jar from being taken.
The video’s on-screen text humorously reads, “POV: Your mom just gave you peanut butter, but you weren’t finished with it.” His determination throughout the clip only adds to the fun as he ignores his owner’s attempts to reclaim the jar. In the caption, his mom joked, “Marlo takes peanut butter VERY seriously.”
Although peanut butter can be a safe and enjoyable treat for dogs, it’s important to give it in moderation. If you decide to offer your pup peanut butter, always check the ingredient label carefully.
Some brands contain xylitol, an artificial sweetener that is highly toxic to dogs, even in small amounts. Plain, unsalted peanut butter without added sugar is generally the safest option.
Because the treat is high in fat and calories, experts recommend serving only small amounts occasionally rather than making it a daily habit. A spoonful as a reward or enrichment treat is usually enough, especially for smaller dogs like Corgis.
