Dog Is Proud After Mom Catches Her Digging a Huge Hole in the Backyard

Dogs love digging holes in the ground due to various reasons,  including boredom, hunting drives, instinctual behaviors, or to simply regulate their body temperature. Most of the time, they also dig to create cool, comfortable resting spots or to hide their treasures, like toys and bones, among other things. Even this video shows a dog digging a hole in the backyard and proudly showing it to her mom.

Digging a hole in the ground is one of the many things that every pooch loves to do. Even this German Shepherd, named Olive, loves to do the same. This is as per this video on @just.samantha.june, much to mom, Samantha June’s surprise.

The mom was looking for the pooch when she spotted Olive out in the backyard, doing something suspicious. She even questions the 5-month-old pup about her activity. She does this only to see that the dog has dug a huge hole in the backyard. This leaves her astonished.  But despite being caught, Olive does not run away. She sits there, without any remorse, proudly showing off her hard work. And when her human companion asks if she is “supposed to do that,” Olive looks at her mom, as if hinting yes, it was a necessity.

Nevertheless, the mom does not scold or get annoyed with her furry pal. She understands, the pup “Gotta get that energy out somewhere!” And it seems the netizens could not agree more. Soon after the clip went online, dog lovers gathered in the comment section to support the pup’s action.

A person said, “That’s their arm cooling station.  Just got it installed.” While another follower commented, “She’s innocent! Can’t prove she did anything lol.. she is adorable.” A third pet lover also voiced in support of the pup, saying, “I just found this hole and sat in it to protect it.” The clip has so far garnered more than 1K likes at the time of writing.
