Bowser, the English Mastiff, thought the workday was very simple. He just had to sniff the tires and enjoy the sun, but then the dog’s dad hit the truck’s horn before driving it — and in a flash, calm turned into chaos. The relaxed dog had no choice but to become the safety supervisor no one asked for. However, given the 147K likes, it is safe to say viewers loved it all, because who doesn’t like an etiquette police when you have a Mastiff schooling their dad?
Dog runs to dad after he accidentally honks
The Instagram video by @bowser_the_englishmastiff opens with the English Mastiff trotting beside a Freightliner while his dad sits inside, probably ready to take it for a drive. Soon, a sharp honk echoes across the driveway. Bowser jerks, drops the toy in his mouth, spins around, and storms back to the driver’s door like a highway patrol officer who saw everything.
When Bowser reaches Dad, he barks at him. But the latter is clueless as he starts to laugh and greets the pooch with a “What?” Little does he know he has offended Bowser, as the on-screen caption says, “When dad clearly missed driver etiquette class, and now you have to tell him a thing or two about it.”
Sudden loud noises can startle anyone — and Bowser knew the culprit, so he went back to scold him. Barking back probably helped him release the startle energy and sent a clear social cue, asking his dad to never honk again — especially with the Mastiff around.
Meanwhile, viewers recognized the dog’s body language right away. Many called the walk back an “angry dad trot” and loved how fast he identified the culprit, with one follower commenting, “He’s able to understand the dude is responsible for the noise. Smart pup.”
Meanwhile, the dog dad made an offer in the caption, writing, “If you need someone to get an employee in line, Bowser is available.” Dad may still claim the horn was an accident, but the four-legged supervisor simply would not handle the violation.
