Something about cooking seems to travel through walls. Or at least that’s what this video from @thelucasli makes it look like. A gorgeous dog from Lucas’ next door has developed a very specific routine, and it involves showing up right on time whenever her neighbor steps into the kitchen. She seems to be a Husky, and these dogs are famously talkative and stubborn, especially when they think a snack is involved. This particular girl, however, isn’t barking. She’s just sitting there and watching, almost like she is politely waiting for her invite to dinner.

The clip starts right on a kitchen counter where two bowls of dinner are sitting. An iPad is playing a show in the background. But the real star is outside. The in-video text says a neighbor’s dog appears whenever Lucas cooks. And Lucas pans the camera to show her sitting perfectly still. The furball is outside the sliding glass door, and there’s something in her eyes that is incredibly hopeful.
Lucas says he was cooking the whole time, and she was standing there watching every single move. She even moves her ears back a little bit when she hears him talking. It is like she knows she’s being discussed. Next, he zooms out to show the wider scene. “She’s always on time,” he explains while she waits. Every time she senses him cooking, she just arrives and stays at the door. It is so cute, but he doesn’t have food for her.
Lucas pans back to his food and tells her it isn’t for her. “This is not for you to eat,” he says in a sad voice. But she doesn’t move. She just keeps staring through the glass with that beautiful face. One viewer joked that she’s probably there to collect the rent. People are begging Lucas to be a good neighbor and share a plate.
The internet has a lot of feelings about this hungry visitor. The video already has over 1.8k likes. One fan suggested she has officially chosen him as her “uncle,” so he needs to share. Someone else even provided a list of dog-safe foods just in case he wants to cook something special.
