Video of This Puppy Fighting a Pillow as Big as Him Will Make Your Day

Everyone has that one thing that instantly improves their mood. And for many, it’s watching animals be their unapologetically goofy selves. That is especially true for puppies who approach the world with bold confidence and zero hesitation. They don’t second-guess their choices, even when they probably should. That fearless attitude is on full display in a video of a puppy fighting a pillow nearly as big as him.

Puppy tries his best to fight a big pillow

A video shared by @thompsonthebernese shows their Bernese Mountain Dog puppy, Thompson, fighting against a pillow nearly his own size. The clip opens with onscreen text reading, “Thompson vs pillow round 1,” setting the stage for a playful showdown. Thompson can be seen gripping the fluffy pillow in his mouth and attempting to wrestle it into submission.

The encounter takes place on a couch, where the small but determined puppy appears fully focused on his “opponent.” Despite the pillow being lifeless, Thompson treats it like a worthy rival, tugging, biting, and repositioning himself as if engaged in a serious match. His tiny paws scramble for balance as he tries to maintain control, showing both his curiosity and growing confidence.

After nearly a minute of effort, the match reaches an unexpected conclusion. Thompson tumbles off the couch along with the pillow, landing on the floor below. Rather than appearing startled, the puppy quickly regains his footing.

What’s more, he looks up at his owner with an expression that suggests he believes he has won the battle. In the caption, Thompson’s owner reassures viewers by writing, “No floofs were harmed in the making of this video.”

Puppies, like Thompson, are naturally inclined to bite, chew, and mouth objects, especially during their early weeks. This behavior is a normal part of development and is often linked to teething, as their gums may feel uncomfortable while new teeth emerge.

Chewing also helps puppies explore their environment, learn textures, and release excess energy. Objects like pillows, toys, and blankets are especially appealing because they are soft, easy to grip, and provide resistance without posing a threat.
