Video: Owner Recalls How Bully Went From ‘Third’ To First Choice For Adoption

Lately, the internet has seen a surge in dog adoption videos, which have increasingly impacted awareness. On top of that, countless shelters have been relentlessly working to provide a better life for rescued animals and help them find their forever homes. This New York City dog owner recalled her journey with her Bully, who went from her “third” to first choice for adoption. She also shared a brief recap of their six years together and the progress he has made since joining their family.

Owner shares story of how she adopted her Bully in video

In an Instagram video, a dog owner documented six years of adventures with her Bully Mochi’s complete adoption story, showing the highs and lows of their journey together. Viveca Chow revealed that she first met the canine when he was only 3 at the Animal Care Centers of NYC in 2019. Mochi seemingly arrived at the shelter after his previous family surrendered him due to their baby’s allergy. He was also the only one in the kennel who didn’t mark, and volunteer videos from his days there proved that he was shy but extremely gentle.

Chow then shared a clip of the dog’s first night they brought him home, as she recalled he was her “third choice.” She then explained her reason and revealed that a “volunteer vouched so hard for him” that she changed her mind. “We immediately knew he was ours,” the dog owner emotionally claimed, adding she believed they were a “natural match” because he made them laugh first. She even remembered hearing the Bully’s first and last howl when they finalized their decision to bring him home.

The dog’s adoption video concluded with a heartfelt message to viewers and the Bully’s previous family. Chow assured he has been in safe hands since they welcomed him into their family and that they love him like their own. Commenters quickly theorized that Mochi howled that one time because he knew he got adopted. Another user explained he got his name “because he’s sweet and squishy.” A few others thanked the dog owner for sharing the heartfelt adoption story.
