The young boy, vacationing with his family, was rushed to the hospital but sadly did not survive.
The Quebec police responded to a call shortly before noon on Monday at a property located in St-Michel-des-Saints, Quebec, as per ABC News. According to Sgt. Frédéric Deshaies, initial investigations suggest that the teenager was involved in a dog sled ride and collided with a tree after the driver lost control.
In addition, authorities stated that the boy was a French national and had traveled to Quebec for a family vacation. He was immediately transported to the hospital after the accident. However, he passed away due to his injuries.
A coroner will conduct an investigation into the teenage boy’s death, according to CTV News Montreal. On Tuesday, Feb. 20, a police spokesperson stated that investigators do not believe criminal negligence played a role in the boy’s death.
