You could try visiting your local shelters and looking for medium-sized dogs. Then bring in your boxer, introduce the dogs, and see if they hit it off. ” — PuppyPants, Mar 09 2008

Basset hounds are compatible with just about any breed as they are a very sturdy dog. They are however a large breed dog with short legs and get to be on average about 50 lbs. when full grown. They are wonderful with children and make excellent companions. They are a bit more of a challenge to train but if you use positive reinforcement (treats) they usually train quickly. They are however not for everyone. ” — smitte21, Mar 08 2008
