Catching dog accidents?QUESTION: What do you do if you catch your dog urinating in the house? answered by Jim Burwell ANSWER: Immediately interrupt the urination and tell your dog, "No!" Then, quickly pick him up and take him to the proper place outside. Say your cue word for elimination, and then praise and treat your dog for going in the right place. Important: do not punish or scold your pup for urinating inside. That will only make him extremely anxious and insecure. While inside the house but outside of his crate, it's your job to supervise your dog. If you can't supervise him, put your dog in a secure area where he won't damage anything valuable if he has an accident. Jim Burwell is one of Houston’s most well-known dog trainers, whose at-home dog training process, The Burwell Method, is the result of 20 years of experience.
