Dog Accidentally Runs Half Marathon – Comes In Seventh Place

Ludivane isn't used to seeing a lot of people on her walks. She's a Bloodhound living in Elkmont, Alabama, a town with a population of about 400. So when her owner let her out for her usual walk, Ludivane was surprised to come across the Elkmont Trackless Train Trek Half Marathon. The two-year-old pup got caught up in the excitement, and before she knew it, she was trotting along with the runners. The dog ran and didn't stop until she made it to the finish line. She sped through the 21 kilometer race with a very respectable time of just over an hour and a half. And she managed to place seventh in the race. The organizers of the event were so impressed that they even awarded Ludivane with a medal.
Working on results...Wanted to share this photo of that was sent to me after the race. This is Ludivane - she ran the entire half marathon and finished 7th overall with a time of 1:32.56 Posted by Elkmont Half Marathon - The Trackless Train Trek on Sunday, January 17, 2016
As for Ludivane's owner, she was completely unaware of the pup's adventure until her friends started sending her pictures of the proud dog at the finish line. As far as she knew, she'd simply let Ludivane out for her walk like normal. The pup decided to run the race completely on her own. She's clearly not one to back down from a challenge.
