Pet Product Review – BISSELL ProHeat 2X® Select Pet Deep Cleaner

I’d like to send a big thank you to the great team at BISSELL Homecare, Inc. for sending along one of their ProHeat 2X Select Pet Deep Cleaners at no charge for this review. That said, my review (as always), will remain unbiased and based solely on my personal experience with the product!

With two dogs and three cats in residence, our poor carpets take a real beating, particularly the area just in front of the doggie door. It doesn’t help that our Dane, Shakespeare, discovered he had a taste for the peaches that had fallen from the tree in the backyard and preferred to bring them inside to devour them in comfort, on the carpet. The Bissell ProHeat 2X Select Pet Deep Cleaner has 12 rows of “PowerBrushes,” a built-in heater and a “deep reach pet tool.” Let’s see how it fared on the 16 year old carpet from Hades!

The shampooer was easy to assemble, just took one screwdriver and about 10 minutes. I found the water reservoir easy to remove, fill and replace. On some of the tougher stains, I used the “Pet Eraser” tool which dispenses shampoo and then extracts it. While it worked on most of the stains, a couple of them were just too much. However, I don’t fault the Deep Cleaner for not dissolving these old stains, I honestly don’t believe there is a shampooer on the planet that could eliminate them on the first try.

After shampooing and extracting, I used the “Water Rinse” setting which my husband and I really like! We both believe the clean water rinse feature puts this shampooer in a different class than any shampooer either of us have used in the past and made the results much more dramatic. As you can see in the photo to the right, the carpet literally changed color! The only problem I encountered was running out of water without knowing it. I wish there was a bell or a light that was triggered when the water reservoir is empty. I’ll just have to pay closer attention in the future. My husband was very pleased with the results he got from using the “TurboBrush” on the carpeted stair steps and said the results vastly exceeded his expectations!

We are extremely pleased and impressed with the ProHeat’s performance and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a reasonably priced, high performing, carpet shampooer. 5 paws up for a shampooer that actually does everything it’s supposed to do!
