expert questions answered

  • Dog Health

When I take my floppy-eared dog to be groomed, he sometimes comes back shaking his head like his ear is bothering him. He does occasionally get ear infections. Is there any connection between his grooming and ear infections?

  • Dog Training

How do I teach my Chihuahua puppy to go through a doggy door? I've been pushing him through, opening it enough for him to finally jump through, and letting him watch my other Chihuahua go through it with ease. Any suggestions?

  • Breeds - general, Dog Adoption, Dog Ages & Dog Stages, and Dog Socialization

We have a male dog and are planning on adopting a new puppy. Obviously, we want them both to get along. Do males tend to get along better with other males, or would a female puppy be a better choice?
