Snoep was originally rescued from some dogfighting scum, due to being non dog-agressive. I re-rescued her when her owner, who is a a friend of mine, was facing eviction with his five kids due to dog-unfriendly policies in his apartment project. Snoep was destined for a Brooklyn dog pound.(you know what happens to pitties there)
Despite being in a very difficult spot in my life at the time, and not really having a place to live, I told her we'd figure it out one day at a time.
Well, God smiled on us and we now live in a nice house on the water where we go fishing together and she can bark at the swans and geese every day.
She came out of her shell and stopped hiding under the bed after nine months with my pal's five kids and their dog/cats...And after 15 months of she and I being together 24/7 she learned what outside is, learned about toys, warms the bed and, with a little coaching figured out that she is a bull (loves tug-of-war) and that she is a terrier (chases squirrelys right up those trees and hunts rats & opossums)
She doesn't bite(of course), rarely barks and loves big dogs, little dogs, kids and cats alike. She can even tell the difference between a yorkie and a guinea pig, though I cant!
