Animal crusader takes on overcrowded animal shelters
I do not pretend to know the solution to this problem.I do know that if a pet owner in California "cannot afford" the surgery they probably really couldn't afford the pet because there have to be tons of reduced cost spay neuter clinics available there.I think sometimes people are just too stubborn or lazy to have it done and frankly no one like this needs a pet.All I have to say is PLEASE spay and neuter your own ... My dog is an Australian Shepard and Blue Heeler he is approx. 8 years old he is not neutered we had no problems until we moved to the country and there is all sorts of dogs running loose. What they didn't say is that neutered dogs are at higher risk for prostate and bone cancer as well as hip displasia and joint problems and early neuter dogs are at even higher risk as well as bladder incontinence. Do some research, there are a lot of studies out there.

My 6 yr. old male (not nuetered) poodle behaves as if my 5 yr. old Jack Russell (Nuetered) is a female in heat. He constantly is trying to lick the jack's anus and breed with him. He cries and paces around him. My Jack gets annoyed and growels or snaps sometimes, but otherwise the Jack is acting normal. What is wrong with the poodle and/or the Jack Russel? It is driving us crazy.

my 11 month old puppy was spayed 5 months ago, since the spaying she has gotten bellt fat.Is this normal and will she thin out? She is very active,outside running and chasing birds,we also walk her a couple times a day.

My lil man after neutering
I had my male dog neutered about 2 wks ago. I also have a female who is in heat now. The male dog is acting 10 times worse than he ever has, not eating, and when he does, throwing it back up and whining all the time. Is there anything I can do? He is driving me nuts.

Neutering my Cocker Spaniel
We have a wonderful, playful sweet Cocker Spaniel who will be three years old on St. Patricks Day. Around Thanksgiving we took him and our 11 year old Cocker to the groomer. That's when the problem began. Murphy, 11, is neutered and was crazy before he was. However, Riley was never agressive, peeing or humping until he came from the groomers. I love the Senior members of my dog family.
I am happy to say that I have three senior dogs ages 11, 13, and 14 years. Two of them are shelter rescues and one of them was an unwanted accident. Sadie has been with my family for 13 years and she is a Cocker-mix. She is probably one of the most tolerant dogs I have ever owned. I have had her since she was 12 weeks old.
