huskies and cats

is it possible to train a husky not to attack a cat? i love both dogs and cats, and the reason y i like huskies is not only because they're pretty but also because they look like wolves but are much nicer. but they still have a high prey drive. can that be dealt with?

Husky In Louisiana

I've wanted a Husky for as long as I can remember, but I've always been afraid to get one because of the heat. Down here in Louisiana we are never without humidity, and while we don't usually top 100, we're often getting into the 90s. While we don't have much of a winter, right now we're having trouble topping 60. The average temp is in the 20s/30s. So it does get decently cold. I've seen the other topics relate... (continued)

huskies in the deep south

I live in Atlanta, and I would love to have a husky, but in the deep southeastern United States, temperatures reach past 90 degrees Farenheit regularly during the summer. My friends tell me that I shouldn't get one because of the climate of my location, but I really want a friendly dog that looks like a wolf. wolves are gorgeous in my opinion, but they can't be domesticated, and I don't believe that wild anim... huskies in the south

i work for a vet, and i really like dogs. she thinks that one i'm an experienced owner, that i can take care of a husky. the bad news is that i live in the south, and i don't want to move north because of friends and family. huskies have thick fur. i really want a husky because they're pretty, good natured and have many good traits. i'm worried that if i get a husky, that he'll get a heat stroke or die... Breaking the Mold

I have a 2 year old Red female Siberian Husky that literally is the most chill dog I've ever owned. Intelligent, loyal, obedient, and charming, Xoe is the epitome of the "Perfect" dog. She has never barked unless given the command to (Literally... I have friends that have been around since she was a pup and they can't even recall ever hearing her bark outside of my command), has learned more tricks than all of the... (continued)

Love my Husky

I had my Husky for ten years. Last summer he was found to have cancer in his paw and had to have his back leg removed. He came through the surgy and was doing good until this past January when we found a tumor on his back and one on his neck. Then in March he was having problems breathing. His lungs were filled with tumors. I still miss my boy(Thunder. He was a very gentle and quiet dog for his breed. He did like to run and even with three legs he could still run like the wind.
