Before you start fostering it's also important you have all the necessary supplies. A quick visit to a pet store can get you everything you'll need. I found that out with the first animal I fostered. PANCREATITIS IN DOGS
MY BEAUTIFUL 10 LB. 3 YEAR OLD SHIHTZU (PIPPI)HAD PANCREATITIS A FEW WEEKS AGO. SHE SPENT NEARLY 3 DAYS IN THE HOSPITAL. I WAS BESIDE MYSELF. THE VET DIDN'T KNOW HOW SHE GOT IT. I have 2 Vizslas and they love the water. We have a boat on Lake Michigan and they can hardly wait to jump in the lake for a swim. We have a pool at home too. If I open the cover they are in the pool before it fully opens. Our other Vizsla that pasted on love the water too.

The first time we took our black lab into the river, she promptly sank to the bottom! We just assumed that she would have a natural ability to swim, but how wrong we were! She survived the sinking, but we had to literally teach her how to swim. Now she is 3 and absolutely loves the water.

Entertainment tips for dogs
That was a nice lecture on who dogs are... but you never once answered the man's question. He obviously already has a dog, so telling him not to get one is late advise, and he obviously cares about his dog because he is taking the time to ask you the question. The proper thing to do would have been to briefly step down from your pedestal and simply respond to his question...

Pro-Stop harness WARNING
has anyone else had a problem w/this product? my dog developed a swollen joint right where the leg straps are positioned and developed a bursitis in the joint as a result. i would caution against using this product when i contacted the Company..they told me the leg straps can be moved- but they show only the one position on their box & insert and gave no other indications or warnings :(

Eco-friendly dog supplies
hmm...this is a great point that I haven't totally though of before. There really are a bunch of things we do with our animals that muck up the environment. I do have to admit though that I really love the items at www.jakesdoghouse.com because they are so fun for dogs. I especially love the gourmet treats. It makes me feel like I am giving back just a little bit of the joy that the dog gives me.

I foster for Golden State German shephberd Rescue and support rescues over shelters as they MAY do a better job of checking out the dog's health prior to fostering him out. I adopted a dog from a Pets'Pals. She needed a root canal due to a cracked tooth and heart worm vet care. She''s fine now however. We are lon foster dog #33. bob
