I am getting a Border Collie on Sept.22, he will be 6weeks old. What kind of food do you recommend i use? Thank You very much!!!” — arayandoll, Aug 28 2008

My last do I would feed high quality dog food, but give her carrots and soybeans with it also. She LOVED the veggies. I now have a whippet mix puppy. Do you suggest I do the same with her. I find small veggies are also great as training treats and the carrots really help keep their teeth clean. I would love a professional opinion” — siberalla, Aug 27 2008

I have 3 week old pit bull puppies ... can and should i start them on dry puppy food, moistend and warmed. The mother does not seem to want to feed them any more. any suggestions??” — lakecod6, Jul 21 2008

To preetjaggi-if your Lab is only 20 days old he really should still be with his mother. He is not fully weaned yet. I would go to the pet store and get some Esbalac (mother's replacement milk) and high quality canned puppy food. Put the canned food in a shallow bowl and then pour enough Esbalac in to make a thick soupy mixture. Feed your puppy three times a day. Gradually start mixing some good quality dry puppy food into the mixtrue until at 6 weeks (42 days old) your puppy will be weaned and eating only the dry puppy food. I hope thisa has helped you. ” — ivycat, Jul 20 2008

I just brought home a chi-Winnie puppy the breeder said was 11 weeks old. He is tiny (the runt) and eats OK. I just noticed he still has a large soft spot on his top of his head and I'm wondering when that will close? I can't find anything on the web addressing this. Anyone know?” — Travelbugg, May 18 2008
