“My greyhound I had for 7 months now the only time he bits if he is sleeping and you go and hug him he will bit He got my 4 year old on the top of the head. Then he walk over to her to kiss her. I know this is not good but I don't know how to make it better I called a few dog trainers. One said that he could not help me with a biting dog and the other trainer called me and then she never got back to me. But I did find a trainer but he is 15 hours away from me. So now I looking on here for help. ”

“I own a 3 month old maltese-shih tzu male, he hasn't had much contact with other dogs since he left his mother and littermates at 8 weeks. Is it too late to socialize him? He is great around all kinds of people though. thanks.”

“A dog that has been exposed to lots of people or 'socialized' has not necessarily enjoyed those interactions and so is uncomfortable with people. Even a dog that is ok with adults can be afraid of kids and should never be left alone with them or have them come any closer to him than he is ok with. You need to understand about triggers, thresholds, counter conditioning and desensitization. “I am the owner of an 8 month old yorkiepoo. I have some aggressive problems with him although he has been very well socialized from a young age. I think he might have been too young to place at 7 weeks. I especially have trouble with his attitude towards children. He has been neutered at 5 months and I have tried the training methods I learned on its me or the dog. Most things he is awesome about, but I feel I cant trust him around children. help thanks gail and bandit”
